EBay Selling Tip - Use Popular Keywords in Auction Titles, PLUS, Saturday's Scan

An eBay selling tip to help you get more buyers looking at your auctions is to use popular keywords in auction titles, and use as many as possible. The title of your eBay auction is extremely important. It is both a description of the item and a good traffic source.

Look at other seller's titles and completed listings to see what is being included in the titles of similar items to yours. Put as many details as possible but you no longer need to repeat similar words, as eBay has programmed its search feature to include auctions with similar keywords. For example, you don't need to have both the words "handbag" and "purse" since the search feature is now sophisticated enough to include all auctions with both "handbag" and "purse" if you search for either one.

Putting as many details as possible in the title will also attract more buyers. Too many sellers list items with very few keywords such as "Coach Handbag." Buyers are often looking for specific items and will type in a color or style number in a search in order to limit the number of items to look through. Therefore, you should be as specific as possible by including color, style, and any other details specific to your auction. Another tip is to be aware of holidays or seasons in the near future, such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc. If you are selling items close to Halloween, and the item could be used for that season, be sure and include "Halloween." Likewise, include keywords such as "Christmas" and "gift" around Christmas time. Be sure to use this eBay selling tip and use as many popular keywords as possible to increase the number of views your item receives. Doing so will help target potential buyers and get you more sales.
